If you’re a fan of Booksmart, you may be familiar with Beanie Feldstein and her work. But what you might not know is she was recently announced to play Fanny Brice in the first ever Broadway revival of Funny Girl. It’s the same role that helped Barbara Streisand become the star that we all know her as today.

Her film/television work:

Fan Girl (2015)

Beanie has a small role as Anna in this comedy about a fan girl who decides to make her favourite band the subject of her final project. This is one of Beanie’s first film credits. 

Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016)

A sequel to Neighbors, Beanie plays Nora, a sorority sister who has just moved in. It’s similar to the first Neighbors movie with the family fed up over the Greek life’s decision to party and the fight between the two. 

Lady Bird (2017)

Beanie plays Lady Bird’s best friend Julie in this Academy Award nominated movie. Beanie’s character is certainly not the focal point of the movie, but there’s nothing bad about the movie. It’s her first project with the level of critical buzz and acclaim. 

Booksmart (2019)

This is the film that she is probably most known for. It’s even the film that scored her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in the Comedy or Musical category. It’s a coming of age comedy about two girls at the top of their class who realize they sacrificed the high school experience for their grades and have one night left before graduation to experience high school. 

How to Build a Girl (2019) 

Beanie stars in this Amazon Original movie about a teen girl who wants to reinvent herself to become a successful journalist. It doesn’t have the best reviews, but it’s worth the watch from the cast alone (Beanie Feldstein and Emma Thompson?? sign us up!) 

Impeachment: American Crime (2021)

The third season of American Crime Beanie plays Monica Lewinsky in the retelling of the Lewinsky-Clinton affair. The season is set to premiere in September of 2021. This series has brought many actors big awards and acclaim and it could very well be the same for Beanie.

Apart from the news of her taking on the coveted role of Fanny Brice, Beanie doesn’t have many Broadway credits. But, in 2017 she made her Broadway debut in Hello Dolly alongside Bette Midler.
