Now that we’ve officially entered December, aka “holiday season”, the best and only way to get in the holiday spirit is to turn on the Hallmark Channel! Hallmark has 41 original holiday-themed films that will air before the end of 2021, so there are ample options for you to choose from this holiday season. Despite all these new holiday films, Hallmark has an impressive list of holiday storylines in its catalog already. Here are a few of our favorites that you should definitely get to binge-ing!
Naughty or Nice
This Hallmark Christmas comedy features a woman who accidentally gains access to Santa’s “Naughty or Nice” book and begins to dig up the dirt on the people in her life. This storyline is not one you might see in many classic holiday films, which makes it that much more enjoyable to watch. Definitely add this Hallmark original to your list!
Nine Lives of Christmas
Now, who doesn’t love animals bringing a couple together? This adorable holiday film tells the story of a soon-to-be vet and a fireman with a stray cat coming together and falling in love. A classic unexpected love story is Hallmark’s specialty, and this one does not disappoint! The main character is portrayed as a relatable, preoccupied student, which is refreshing to watch in a romance film. A sequel titled The Nine Kittens of Christmas will be airing this year as well. Based on the title, we can assume there are only more cats to come!
Snow Bride
A reporter/celebrity romance? Yes please! Snow Bride takes on that classic “pretend dating” storyline but with a twist. In an effort to cover an important story for her tabloid magazine, the main character ends up pretending to date the celebrity in her story. Of course, that has to lead to them falling in love, right? This is a fun spin on a somewhat common romance storyline that is sure to get you in the holiday spirit.
Love at the Thanksgiving Day Parade
Do I hear enemies to lovers? These two coworkers are forced to work together to create the perfect Thanksgiving Day parade, and of course, it doesn’t go well! There is no better storyline than two characters who hate each other being forced to come together and fall in love. Of course, it’s also nice to have that unique touch of the parade in the story, making it truly original. Even though Thanksgiving has passed, this Hallmark film is still bound to get you in the holiday spirit!
A Crown for Christmas
Danica McKellar is down on her luck after getting fired from her job a week before Christmas…a classic film conflict! No fear, though, as she quickly takes on a position as a governess of the daughter of a European royal family! Oh, and of course, there’s some romance in there too. Hallmark loves a good royal family plotline during Christmas, and we can’t blame them! The Wonder Years star is always the sign of a good Hallmark film, and now that there’s royalty involved, it’s absolutely a must-watch!
The Christmas Train
Finally, this star-studded film based on the original novel The Christmas Train by David Baldacci tells the story of a journalist being forced to take the train to get to his Christmas destination. Of course, he meets a few new faces, along with a familiar one. Dermot Mulroney, Joan Cusak, Danny Glover, and Kimberly Williams-Paisley tell us a story about second chances, fate, and of course holiday spirit. This film is definitely one to round out your Hallmark experience and get you ready for the holidays!
There are truly so many Hallmark films that are perfect for this time of year, and of course, they’re releasing even more! These are just a few of our favorites to get you ready for whatever holiday you’re celebrating this season!
