 Summer 2020 for Ghostbusters 3! Jason Reitman directing.
 Lost Boys series on The CW
 Netflix producing Resident Evil series
 Dark Delicacies horror shop is moving because of high rent. It’s Go Fundme was a big success,
drawing Gillermo del Torro and a number of top names in horror.
 Channel Zero on Syfy has been canceled after 4 seasons.
 CBS developing series called EVIL, about a skeptical female clinical psychologist and a priest-in-
training who investigate supernatural phenomena. Sound familiar?
 Cassandra Peterson, aka, Elvira, hinted on Instagram that she’s working on bringing back her TV
series Movie Macabre, possibly to Netflix. And maybe even another film.
 Universal and Blumhouse are developing an Invisible Man movie, with Insidious and Saw
mastermind Leigh Whannel attached to direct. Which means it will probably be scary, unlike
Universal’s Mummy, starring Tom Cruise. Also, it doesn’t have to be part of a shared universe.
Was supposed to star Johnny Depp, but that seems unlikely. Count me happy in this development.

Serenity & The Kid Who Would Be King Reviews + Oscar Nom Surprises & Snubs | LAOFCS Weekly Ep. 21

On episode twenty-two of LAOFCS Weekly, Scott Menzel is away at Sundance so taking his place in the hosting chair is Rama Tampubolon. Joining Rama is Kit Bowen and Nestor Bentancor, who will share their thoughts on the Academy Awards nominations, The Kid Who Would Be King and Serenity, plus they will reveal this week’s movie pick of the week.

Presenting LAOFCS Weekly, where members of the Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society come together to discuss new topics of the weeks, the movies you may have missed but need to check out, and reveal insider information of the film and journalism industry. Join host Scott Menzel with a rotating panel of members of the LAOFCS as they bring you into the inner circle with heightened discussion and knowledge.

Each week, the show will feature four weekly segments which include:
-Movie Pick of The Week – A weekly vote of all films being released in Los Angeles that week.
-Independent Spotlight – A weekly Indie film suggestion from each member on the panel. The film can be playing in theaters, on-demand, or various streaming services.
-Retro Rewind – A weekly recommendation of an older release that is currently available on streaming, DVD, or Blu-Ray.
-Special Topic – Each week there will be a special conversation about something going on the industry or something that ties into this week’s episode.

Who are the LAOFCS?

Los Angeles is the home of Hollywood and the film industry. There are hundreds of critics in the Los Angeles area and yet there was only one critic’s circle. San Francisco, New York, Austin, and all other major cities throughout the USA have an online critics group but not Los Angeles. We wanted to change that and therefore launched the Los Angeles Film Critics Society (LAOFCS) at the end of 2016.

By creating this group, they wanted to ensure that the members of their society are reflective of those who reside in the city of Los Angeles. Diversity is very important in film criticism and they want to make sure that all voices are represented within our group. They also want to embrace members that are finding new ways to criticize film whether that be through video, podcasts, or on social media.

Over the next few years, the Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society is hoping to redefine what it means to be part of a film critics group by having a year-round presence. Most film critic circles at the end of each year begin to appear to discuss their favorite films of the year. They wanted to create a film critics group that would openly discuss film throughout the year and not just during award season.

Glass (2019) Review | Anatomy of a Movie

Hosts Mina Wahab (@MinaMakesMagic) & Demetri Panos (@DMovies1701) discuss Glass (2019) Review!

M. Night Shyamalan brings together the narratives of two of his standout originals—2000’s Unbreakable, from Touchstone, and 2016’s Split, from Universal—in one explosive, all-new comic-book thriller: Glass. From Unbreakable, Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn as does Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, known also by his pseudonym Mr. Glass. Joining from Split are James McAvoy, reprising his role as Kevin Wendell Crumb and the multiple identities who reside within, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, the only captive to survive an encounter with The Beast. Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.

I Could Never Be Katherine McNamara – with Michael Clouse

Katherine McNamara is the lead actress on Freeform’s Shadowhunters and stars on CW’s Arrow. However, 12 years ago she had no idea acting was in her future. At that time, she loved math and wanted to be an economist. However, circumstances aligned for McNamara to land a role in a local theater in Missouri, which lead to a role on Broadway, and her career took off. She has a “Nike” attitude: she just does it! When obstacles or opportunities arise, she doesn’t overthink them and trusts her gut. Shadowhunters took her career to new heights, but she says she’s still guided by her midwestern values. Tune in to hear what she says about the upcoming Shadowhunters’ final season, why she thought her acting career was over when it was announced the show was ending, and what her goals are for the future!

Richard Schiff is an actor and comedian who has graced television and movie screens for over 20 years. But it took much longer than that for Schiff to even break into the industry.
