Alicia Silverstone is part actress, part icon, and part super mom. She has provided us with numerous accounts of beloved entertainment since the early 1990s. On June 1 Deadline.com announced that Alicia will be starring in the upcoming film Senior Year alongside Rebel Wilson, Justin Hartley, Zoe Chao, Sam Richardson, and Chris Parnell, just to name a few. In addition to this upcoming role (which is sure to be exciting), we want to celebrate the many fascinating moments in her career that are just as iconic as Alicia herself.

Her role in The Crush (1993)

Alicia’s first big appearance on screen was her role in erotic thriller The Crush. Her role earned her two awards at the 1994 MTV Movie Awards including Best Breakthrough Performance and Best Villain. Without giving anymore of the movie away, take a look at the enticing trailer below:

Alicia’s appearance in Aerosmith’s Cryin’ music video

Alicia became an icon for teens at the age of 16 when she acted in Aerosmith’s music video for Cryin’ in 1993. She appeared in two other Aerosmith music videos including Amazing and Crazy. The Cryin’ music video was what led Clueless director Amy Heckerling to discover Alicia, and she fell in love with her talent, hence casting her as the main role in the film.

Her portrayal of Cher Horowitz in Clueless

Need we say more? Even today, Alicia’s portrayal of Cher holds one of the most memorable, iconic roles of the 1990s. She is undoubtedly the most charming, fun, high school girl who we all dreamt of (or still dream of) being. If you’re not familiar with Amy Heckerling’s Clueless, I highly recommend watching it – on repeat. Alicia even continues to share fun memories from Clueless via her instagram:

Alicia’s character in Braceface

The Canadian-chinese animated series Braceface aired from 2001 to 2004. Alicia voiced the main role of Sharon Spitz for seasons 1 and 2 of the series. The show centers around a middle school girl whose braces become a form of both power and destruction as she attempts to live a normal teenage life. It’s impossible to watch Sharon’s character without being reminded of Cher from Clueless.

Her passion for animals and being vegan

Alicia has expressed her dedication for animals by going vegan and by continuously endorsing activities for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Additionally, she has published two vegan cookbooks: The Kind Diet (2009) and The Kind Mama (2014). Alicia is the co-founder of mykind Organics, and you can visit her website https://thekindlife.com/ to explore more vegan tips, recipes, and products.

When she performed on Lip Sync Battle

Lip Sync Battle hosted by LL Cool J has numerous fun star appearances, but Alicia Silverstone by far holds the most iconic performance on the show. She performed “Cryin’” by Aerosmith as a nod to her first music video role. Her second performance was to Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy”, which is originally a Clueless-themed music video. Therefore, it made perfect sense for Alicia to perform the song that gave a shout out to her breakthrough role. Watch Alicia’s performances below:

TikTok

On Saturday, June 5 Alicia uploaded her very first TikTok video! And to say it was the perfect first video for her account is an understatement. Alicia has encouraged fans and followers to recreate her same video using the hashtags #Clueless and #AsIf. The best part of the TikTok? Alicia’s son Bear makes a sweet appearance.

Alicia’s role in the upcoming Senior Year film is anticipated to be another great addition to her set of already-impressive accomplishments in her career. Considering Alicia’s return to high school in this film, we can only hope that her character will be channeling some Cher vibes, or that there might be a nod or two at Clueless.

Senior Year is set to release on Netflix in 2022, and we can’t wait to see it!
