Planes, Trains & Automobiles | Anatomy of a Movie

In this show, AOM host Marisa Serafini and co-hosts Sara Stretton, Demetri Panos, John Comerford, Phil Svitek, and Cami Martinez discuss the 1987 film Planes, Trains & Automobiles, an American comedy film written, produced and directed by John Hughes. The film stars Steve Martin as Neal Page, a high-strung marketing executive, who meets Del Griffith, played by John Candy, an eternally optimistic, overly talkative, and clumsy shower curtain ring salesman who seems to live in a world governed by a different set of rules. They share a three-day odyssey of misadventures trying to get Neal home to Chicago from New York City in time for Thanksgiving dinner with his family. The hosts discuss everything from filmography, to casting/acting, directing, cinematography, editing, score, sound editing, etc. HELPFUL LINKS: IMDB Page – http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093748/ Wiki Page – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planes,_Trains_and_Automobiles 23 Reasons Why Planes, Trains & Automobiles is the best Thanksgiving Movie – http://www.buzzfeed.com/jessicamisener/23-reasons-planes-trains-and-automobiles-is-the-best-thanksg AVC Review – http://www.avc.com/a_vc/2013/11/planes-trains-and-automobiles.html 10 Best Moments in Movie – http://www.i-mockery.com/minimocks/planes-trains-automobiles/ How Much Would the Trip Cost Today? – http://www.filmschoolrejects.com/features/how-much-would-the-trip-in-planes-trains-and-automobiles-cost-today.php TV Ropes’ Article – http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Film/PlanesTrainsAndAutomobiles
