BEFORE SUNSET Writer Kim Krizan & The Life of Anaïs Nin – The Film Scene with Illeana Douglas

#BeforeSunset #TheFilmScene #KimKrizan

Kim Krizan’s career began with a close working relationship with acclaimed director Richard Linklater, having appeared in both Slacker and Waking Life. She is co writer on Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, for which was nominated for an Oscar. Starting in 2008, Krizan branched out into writing comic books and graphic novels. She wrote the “2061” comic series that was published in Zombie Tales #1, 9, and 11 by BOOM! Studios, with all three installments collected into a stand-alone graphic novel entitled Zombie Tales 2061 in mid-2009. Her most recent project is a biography on novelist and diarist Anais Nin. Nin spent her early years in Spain and Cuba, about sixteen years in Paris (1924–1940), and the remaining half of her life in the United States, where she became an established author, though she is most known for her turbulent relationships and candid, published diaries.

Popcorn Talk Network, the online broadcast network that features movie discussion, news, interviews and commentary proudly presents “The Film Scene w/ Illeana Douglas”, a weekly, freewheeling discussion show where industry veteran Illeana Douglas interviews Hollywood’s most important voices in TV and Film, discussing some of Cinema’s most important films, scenes, and shots. Who are the LAOFCS?

Los Angeles is the home of Hollywood and the film industry. There are hundreds of critics in the Los Angeles area and yet there was only one critic’s circle. San Francisco, New York, Austin, and all other major cities throughout the USA have an online critics group but not Los Angeles. We wanted to change that and therefore launched the Los Angeles Film Critics Society (LAOFCS) at the end of 2016.

By creating this group, they wanted to ensure that the members of their society are reflective of those who reside in the city of Los Angeles. Diversity is very important in film criticism and they want to make sure that all voices are represented within our group. They also want to embrace members that are finding new ways to criticize film whether that be through video, podcasts, or on social media.

Over the next few years, the Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society is hoping to redefine what it means to be part of a film critics group by having a year-round presence. Most film critic circles at the end of each year begin to appear to discuss their favorite films of the year. They wanted to create a film critics group that would openly discuss film throughout the year and not just during award season.
