On this week’s Guilty Movie Pleasures… Ben Begley and Jesse McIntosh are tackling the Ryan Reynolds Rom-Com “JUST FRIENDS”! He finally confesses his feelings, but she tells him that she just wants to be friends, and he leaves town in shame. Ten years later, Chris is a successful record executive and involved with self-absorbed pop star Samantha James. He still pines for Jamie, though, and when his plans to go to Paris for the holidays fall through, he returns to his hometown to try and win her heart. Although her passion has always been singing (grandmother Rae took Tia to her first singing lesson at age 11), Tia would continue her ascent in the acting world with a regular stint on General Hospital as Jade Soong and a string of co-starring roles on MacGyver, Quantum Leap, Married With Children, and Friday the 13th, among others.

Today, we’re thrilled to welcome actor and director John Caroll Lynch: He first gained notice for his role as Norm Gunderson in Fargo. He is also known for his television work on the ABC sitcom The Drew Carey Show as the title character’s cross-dressing brother, Steve Carey, as well as on American Horror Story: Freak Show and American Horror Story: Cult as Twisty the Clown. He returned to American Horror Story as a series regular, in American Horror Story: 1984, to portray Benjamin Richter, also known as Mr. Jingles, the main killer of the season. His films include Face/Off, Gran Torino, Shutter Island, Ted 2, The Invitation, and Zodiac. He also portrayed McDonald’s co-founder Maurice McDonald in The Founder. He made his directorial debut with the 2017 film Lucky, directing Harry Dean Stanton in his Satellite-award-winning, final performance!

The plot follows Matt Lee Whitlock, a police chief of a small Florida town, going through a divorce with his detective wife, Alex (Eva Mendes). He begins a passionate affair with Ann (Sanaa Lathan), only to find out that she’s stricken with terminal cancer. Matt steals a large sum of money confiscated from a drug bust in order to pay for Ann’s treatment — but when she apparently dies in a suspicious fire, the money disappears, and all the clues point to Matt as the culprit.

More on Alonso: he was the artistic director at the USA Film Festival/Dallas for five years. He was also the former arts and entertainment editor at the national gay and lesbian magazine The Advocate. In 2007, he became the film critic for MSNBC.com, and in 2009, his reviews began appearing regularly on The Rotten Tomatoes Show. Duralde is a member of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association. His writing has appeared in The Village Voice, Movieline, and Detour. In July 2011, he became the senior film critic for The Wrap, which also syndicates his reviews to the Reuters wire. He also appeared on the TYT Network program What the Flick?!, and currently co-hosts the podcast and YouTube channel “Breakfast All Day”. In November 2005, Duralde’s first book, 101 Must-See Movies for Gay Men, was published. Duralde was also featured in writer Dennis Hensley’s book Screening Party, which gives the witty commentary of a group of Hensley’s friends as they watched movies together. Duralde’s second book, Have Yourself a Movie Little Christmas, was published in October 2010 by Limelight Editions.

Jason Clark Interview – The Film Scene Illeana Douglas

Jason Clark is a producer in the world of live-action and CGI feature films and television programs. He recently served as executive producer on the Jackie Robinson biographical sports film, 42 (2013), released by Warner Bros. on April 12, 2013. Prior to that, Clark produced Seth MacFarlane‘s blockbuster film, Ted (2012), released by Universal on June 29, 2012. This CG comedy went on to be the highest-grossing, original R-rated comedy of all-time, earning over $545 million, worldwide. Clark served as executive producer on the action thriller, Act of Valor (2012), which featured a cast of actual Navy Seals and was filmed utilizing only Cannon 5-D digital cameras. Previously, Clark executive produced the stereoscopic 3D film, Monster House (2006), alongside Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis. The film went on to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Clark also executive produced the box-office hits, Stuart Little (1999) and Stuart Little 2 (2002).

Clark is currently focused on three new projects with Seth MacFarlane. On the small screen, Clark is re-teaming with MacFarlane to produce a 21st century version of Carl Sagan‘s Cosmos (2014), to premiere on Fox on March 9th, 2014. On the big screen, Clark is producing MacFarlane’s upcoming live-action film, A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014), to be released by Universal on May 30th, 2014. Next, Clark will produce the follow-up to the feature film, Ted (2012), scheduled for release on June 26th, 2015.

In addition to the aforementioned projects, Clark is also executive producing a feature-length animated version of Jay Ward‘s classic cartoon, Mr. Peabody & Sherman (2014), directed by Rob Minkoff, to be released by “Dreamworks Animation” on March 7th, 2014.
