Furious 7 (2015)… is a “Guilty Movie Pleasure”

Popcorn Talk Network proudly presents a vodcast that offers a glimpse into the movies we love to watch with breakdown and analysis of the movies some might call… a “Guilty Movie Pleasure”. Join us each week as Ben Begley and Jesse McIntosh breakdown your favorite films, from the classics to the yet to be seen; it’s all here under one banner… GUILTY MOVIE PLEASURES!

This week, Jesse and Ben talk about Furious 7 (2015)!

Furious 7 (often stylized as Furious Seven and alternatively known as Fast 7 and Fast & Furious 7) is a 2015 American action film directed by James Wan and written by Chris Morgan. It is the seventh installment in The Fast and the Furious franchise. The film stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker (in his final film role), Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Djimon Hounsou, Kurt Russell and Jason Statham. Furious 7 follows Dominic Toretto (Diesel), Brian O’Conner (Walker) and the rest of their team, who have returned to the United States to live normal lives after securing amnesty in Fast & Furious 6 (2013) for their past crimes, until Deckard Shaw (Statham), a rogue special forces assassin seeking to avenge his comatose younger brother, puts the team in danger once again.

With the previous three installments set between 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003) and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), Furious 7 is the first installment in the franchise to take place after Tokyo Drift. The film also marks the final film appearance of Walker, who died in a single-vehicle crash on November 30, 2013, with filming only half-completed. Following Walker’s death, filming was delayed for script rewrites, and his brothers, Caleb and Cody, were used as stand-ins to complete his remaining scenes.

THE WICKED DEAD Table Read w/ Seana Kofoed – The Unproduced Table Read #10

Popcorn Talk Network proudly presents The Unproduced Table Read, a weekly vodcast series featuring Hollywood’s best unproduced pilot and movie scripts read by professional actors, accompanied exclusive writer interviews and insight!

In 1973, American pop culture was forever changed when THE EXORCIST hit theaters, and terrified the nation. The film, notable for it’s frankly portraying the horrors of demonic possession, has shaped the nature of horror pictures since it’s release. Today’s script, THE WICKED DEAD by Seana Kofoed, borrows from some of the same high-stakes work introduced in that movie, though it crafts a moving procedural narrative to create something totally original. Enjoy the show!

28 Days Later (2002) Review | Action Movie Anatomy

Action Movie Anatomy hosts Ben Bateman and Andrew Ghai break down 2002’s 28 Days Later!

28 Days Later is a 2002 British post-apocalyptic horror film directed by Danny Boyle, written by Alex Garland, and stars Cillian Murphy, Naomie Harris, Brendan Gleeson, Megan Burns, and Christopher Eccleston. The plot depicts the breakdown of society following the accidental release of a highly contagious virus and focuses upon the struggle of four survivors to cope with the destruction of the life they once knew.

Successful both commercially and critically, the film is credited with reinvigorating the zombie genre of horror film.[3] The film spawned a 2007 sequel, 28 Weeks Later, a graphic novel titled 28 Days Later: The Aftermath, which expands on the timeline of the outbreak, and a 2009 comic book series titled 28 Days Later.

It was released by 20th Century Fox on 30 June 1995. The film grossed $66.43 million worldwide, but received middling and polarizing reviews from critics.[2]

THE END OF THE STARS Table Read w/ Chris Parizo – The Unproduced Table Read #9

Popcorn Talk Network proudly presents The Unproduced Table Read, a weekly vodcast series featuring Hollywood’s best unproduced pilot and movie scripts read by professional actors, accompanied exclusive writer interviews and insight!

Inspirational Family Movies don’t have to be bad. In fact, sometimes, they can be really, really good. Movies like BIG FISH and SAVING MR. BANKS deeply merit the exploration of parents, grief, and redeemed relationships through a family-friendly lens, and today’s feature script, THE END OF THE STARS, fits perfectly in that landscape. Chris Parizo’s moving, whimsical feature about a quirky girl and her complicated relationship with her ailing father, was a Top 50 finisher in 2016 Nicholl Competition, and we’re honored to read it on today’s episode of UTR.
