In this AOM show, hosts Chloe West, Sara Stretton and Demetri Panos interview special guest Cathryn de Prume who appears in the movie Wild. Cathryn de Prume appears opposite Reese Witherspoon in director Jean-Marc Vallée’s Wild, a chronicle of one woman’s 1100-mile solo hike. She also appears in the Britt Robertson-Justin Long- Martin Sheen mystery thriller Ask Me Anything; and she’s a school administrator in the thriller Murder 101. At the age of 11, against her parents’ will, Cathryn used her babysitting money to enroll in her first acting class. She then joined an onstage improv group in her native Park Slope, Brooklyn and went on to NYC’s prestigious High School of the Performing Arts. It was during the summer after her first year in college at SUNY Purchase, that she got her first break – the part of Goldi Lox, opposite Melissa Leo’s Mama Bear, in the indie fantasy thriller Dead Time Stories. She quickly followed that up with the plum part of drugged-out Brita in director Tony Bill’s drama Five Corners, which was written by John Patrick Shanley, and starred Jody Foster and Tim Robbins. After a year on stage in Tony and Tina’s Wedding, Cathryn was cast in CrissCross, a drama that starred Goldie Hawn and was shot in Key West. Moving to Los Angeles, she quickly got the role of doomed Linda Bailey Brown in the television movie Love, Lies and Murder, which was followed by a starring role opposite Anna Gunn in Down the Shore, a Fox sit-com that lasted 29 episodes. Cathryn’s additional television credits include: Coach (she played a clueless, money-grubbing cheerleader), Blossom (as Kandy the Polish prostitute), Without A Trace, Grey’s Anatomy, Rules of Engagement and True Blood. On the feature front, her additional credits include Bloodhounds of Broadway, Navy Seals, Terminal Velocity, Mrs. Winterbourne, The Wedding Project, Scrambled and The Civilization of Maxwell Bright. Cathryn also has performed her one-woman show Blended Salad about her eccentric family in theaters around Los Angeles.
