Netflix has watered Zach Galifianakis’ plants and they’re about to bloom! Translation: Galifianakis’ popular web series, Between Two Ferns, will soon be a full length movie.
Netflix dropped the first trailer for the comedy Tuesday, which includes a slew of celebrity appearances.
The movie follows Galifianakis as he sets out on the road to film ten more episodes of his popular series. He is told by Will Ferrell if he gets the double digit episodes, he’ll get his own talk show.
After opening up with Matthew McConaughey, whom Galifianakis kills “momentarily,” the trailer teases appearances from David Letterman, Brie Larson, Peter Dinklage, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Rudd, and Chrissy Teigen. As is the norm with Between Two Ferns, Galifianakis roasts the guests with awkward questions and very dry humor.
The original Between Two Ferns series, which was produced by Funny or Die, has garnered hundreds of of millions of views on YouTube. Guests have included Barack Obama, Justin Bieber, Brad Pitt, Jerry Seinfeld, Conan O’Brien, Natalie Portman, and Jennifer Aniston.
Between Two Ferns: The Movie comes out September 20th on Netflix.
