Netflix has announced that it will be making a musical adaptation of the hit children’s tale Alice in Wonderland, and it appears they’ve found their Alice.

Sabrina Carpenter (The Hate You Give, Work It, Girl Meets World) has been cast in the upcoming feature and will also be producing the film with Leslie Morgenstein (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) and Elysa Dutton (Idiocracy), under Carpenter’s new production company, Alloy Entertainment.

The adaptation will be a musical set in modern day taking place at a musical festival aptly titled Wonderland.

Carpenter is no stranger to musicals, most recently making her Broadway debut in Tina Fey’s Mean Girls.

Ross Evans, who also wrote the original musical Catch the Moon, will be writing the screenplay.

No other information or premiere date has been released as of yet.

Netflix will also be releasing another children’s story adaptation with the stop motion animated musical version of Pinocchio produced by Guillermo Del Toro.
