Universal Cancels “The Hunt” Movie After Mass Shootings

The Hunt movie has been killed before even being released.
The new film by Universal was criticized by President Trump on Friday, and harsh fan disapproval followed when the plot of the movie was discussed.
The movie, which was set to star Hillary Swank and Emma Roberts, had rich elites targeting other humans in a hunting reserve called the Manor House. The “game” takes a turn when one of the targets starts killing the elites.
Universal pulled the promotion of the film on August 7th following the shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio. Two days later, Trump tweeted, “Liberal Hollywood is Racist at the highest level, and with great Anger and Hate! They like to call themselves “Elite,” but they are not Elite. In fact, it is often the people that they so strongly oppose that are actually the Elite. The movie coming out is made in order to inflame and cause chaos.”
Universal pulled the movie shortly afterwards.
The movie was set to be released September 27th, 2019. It is unclear whether the movie is just being delayed, or shelved indefinitely.
