An update on The Batman movie production.

You may recall that the film halted production on September 3rd due to reports of star, Robert Pattinson, testing positive for coronavirus. Following the reports, the entire cast and crew quarantined in the U.K., awaiting for production to resume.

In an update yesterday, Variety reported that a Warner Bros. spokesmen released the following statement, “Following a hiatus for COVID 19 quarantine precautions, filming has now resumed on ‘The Batman’ in the U.K.”

Although the production company never confirmed, nor denied, it was Robert Pattinson who tested positive for the virus, Variety and VanityFair both confirmed reports that Pattinson was indeed the positive case. There also has been no word on the condition of Pattinson or any other personnel.

The film’s release date, which has already been pushed back once, is set for October of 2021. Pattinson is set to star as the Batman himself. Alongside him will be Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman and Colin Farrell as Penguin. The movie takes place in the beginning of Bruce Wayne becoming Batman and will give glimpses into the start of villains Penguin and the Riddler, played by Paul Dano.

If you’re yearning to catch Robert Pattinson in a new film, might we suggest The Devil All the Time, a Netflix thriller that came out this past week. Pattinson plays Reverend Preston Teagardin.

As other films begin production, it will be interesting to see what is next in store. We truly hope that all sets stay healthy and safe, following the necessary guidelines to do so. With The Batman having already been effected, it is assumed that other productions will be keeping this in mind and using it as an example.
