Spiderman 3 & PS5 news

ET Online

This has been a big week for our friendly neighborhood Spiderman. As the cast and crew of Spiderman 3 is hard at work filming the third part of the superhero franchise, we also saw the release of the highly anticipated Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Although we don’t know much about the plot of Spiderman 3, the cast has been keeping us updated. Seven days ago Peter Parker himself, Tom Holland, shared a first look at the new Spidey suit for the film. He also donned a medical mask over his superhero getup acknowledging the precautions the cast and crew are taking to keep the spread of COVID-19 under lock. With cases rising in the United States, it is very possible that the Atlanta production could be halted or shut down at any moment. Holland captioned the photo, “Wear a mask, I’m wearing two…”

On a more casual note, Tom uploaded a photo to his Instagram story showing him relaxing in costume. The web shooter is going to need the rest, since Spiderman 3 is gearing up to be the biggest challenge Peter Parker has faced yet. Despite striking up a romance with MJ played by Zendaya at the end of Far from Home things quickly go sour for Peter. His true identity is revealed to the world and it is no secret that Peter will be dealing with the fallout from this in Spiderman 3. Fans are also excited to see Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons reprise his role as J. Jonah Jameson. Simmons isn’t the only actor returning to the Spiderman franchise in this film. Rumors are swirling that Jaimie Foxx plans to take on the role of Electro again while the original on screen Peter Parker, Toby Maguire is in talks to make a cameo. Benedict Cumberbatch’s Dr. Strange is also expected to appear, hinting that this Spiderman film will take an approach similar to the wildly popular Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. However, we’re going to have to wait until the film’s release on Dec. 17, 2021 to know more.

Tom Holland

If you don’t want to wait for December of next year to get your Spiderman fix then you’re in luck. Insomniac Games just released their sequel to their 2018 smash hit Marvel’s Spider-Man. The action adventure open world for the Playstation 4 game put you directly in Spiderman’s shoes. You are able to swing around a photo realistic in the game version of New York City while stopping crime, saving civilians, and collecting unique costumes. This sequel follows Miles Morales (the star of the previously mentioned Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) after he was bit by a radioactive spider. While Peter Parker is on vacation with his girlfriend MJ, it is now Miles’s job to protect New York City. Spider-Man: Miles Morales is also the flagship title for the newly released Playstation 5. The game has been getting rave reviews for its ability to show off the power of the Playstation 5’s graphics and Miles as a main character. This just goes to show that our love for Spiderman isn’t limited to Peter Parker.

Will you be playing Spider-Man: Miles Morales on the PS5? Or are you going to wait until Spiderman 3 to see Peter or Miles again?
