Two weeks ago, Sonic The Hedgehog writer Josh Miller appeared on Popcorn Talk’s “The Con Guy” show and discussed details on a potential Sonic sequel.

When asked about what he would do if he was going to be a part of a sequel Josh said, “I will only hint that we wanna bring in some of the other characters from the games.” Josh went on to say that both the characters Knuckles and Tails are characters from the game and he is a big fan, but, “Really it’s all about Knuckles’ love.”  This makes complete sense because Knuckles and Tails are the most popular characters in the Sonic Universe! No word yet on whether “Shadow” may make an appearance…

Later in the interview, Josh went on to describe the one detail he would love to include in a potential sequel: “I hope this is not a spoiler for anybody waiting but I really wanna get Jaleel White involved somehow… he was in a super bowl ad by the way.” Jaleel White was the original voice of Sonic the Hedgehog, voicing the Hedgehog in Animated TV shows like the 1993 Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic The Hedgehog series, and 1999’s Sonic Underground. Jaleel is also known for playing Steve Urkel in Family Matters. Ben Schwartz voices Sonic in the new film and loves the idea.

The film is currently in theaters and has already made $58 million domestically and passed $100 million worldwide. Paramount has yet to announce a sequel, but this strong success early on points to a sequel on the horizon!
