If you’re looking for a movie with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat then you have to check out Lifetime’s Her Deadly Groom.

The film follows Allison [Kate Watson], who meets and falls for charming and mysterious Vincent [Michael DeVorzon].  Little does she know Vincent is anything but charming, and in fact a true psychopath.

Popcorn Talk’s Benny Adams spoke exclusively to Michael DeVorzon about his role in the suspenseful film.

“I remember when they offered me the role and my mom said, I don’t want you to play a psychopath, you’re my boy,  you’re a nice guy, I don’t want you playing a bad guy, a killer.” Explained DeVorzon when his mom found out he was going to portray the sinister Vincent.

After DeVorzon got the role he had a lot of prepping to do including studying films such as No Country For Old Men, and American Psycho; but that wasn’t enough for the actor to tap into such a dark character.

“For this role I think doing the balance, and doing the balance well, made this role a little more challenging. It’s one thing if you’re just going to come in and play this kind of dangerous, very straight sinister character, but I had to balance between the romantic and the psychopath.” DeVorzon explains,“I probably worked harder on this role than I have in any other role because of the subtleties that needed to go in to execute the character the way I intended to.”

It seems like the actor’s hard work paid off because many have been praising DeVorzon for how he tackled his character.

“There’s been a lot of support for the film and a lot of people have reached out to me that saw the movie… The response has been really great. People have really spoken to the dance I did with the character between him being the romantic man and seeing his dangerous psychopathic side.” DeVorzon said.

Now that he’s done with this role, don’t think  DeVorzon will be taking a break anytime soon.

He just finished writing his third feature screenplay, as well as writing a pilot for television.     When it comes to the actor  taking on his next role, he’s ready to take on the challenge.

“I do like taking on a mentally disturbed role, but I would like to even go further with that and play somebody that’s in a psych ward… I would love to do a western, that would definitely be up there among the things that I would like to do, probably more than anything.”

That being said DeVorzon loved playing the villainous Vincent and can’t wait for more fans to see him in action.

“It’s a very timely cautionary tale to basically be aware, be alert, and you have to trust your intuition and your inner guide.”DeVorzon states, “you’ll have a nice blend of tainted romance, and there are some nice twists and turns. I think the audience will be caught off guard a number of times, and surprised; and if you want to see me fall in love and kill people then you might like  this movie.”
