The passing of our favorite Laker, Kobe Bryant, and the legendary Rocky Johnson, who also happens to be the father of Dwayne The Rock Johnson, raises the question “is it worth it to remain at odds with someone or is it better just to forgive and move on?”
In 2013, Johnson and Diesel drew closer to one another after the passing of Fast and Furious family Paul Walker; however, The Fast and Furious 9 trailer dropped this week and The Rock wasn’t in it!
The two stars of the F&F fam had been at odds so much that it separated the franchise.

Johnson did his spin off Hobbs and Shaw, without Diesel, and we’re left wondering if there are new revelations on the status of their relationship in the wake of these very recent, unfortunate tragedies.
We asked a friend of The Rock, Keven Undergaro, creator and co-founder of AfterBuzz TV, what he thought of the said riff between the actors.:
“Have there been rumblings in the past, yeah. Stallone talks about it all the time with Schwarzenegger back in the day they were really at odds it was so bad between them,” said Undergaro. “Now, every Saturday they get together for lunch and are literally best of friends.”
This seems like the closest superstar comparison for Johnson and Diesel.
Oprah’s heart to heart with Johnson on her 2020 Vision Tour, Your Life in Focus was filled with life lessons, vulnerability, truth and laughs. Johnson shared bits of his journey including the fact that the NFL was the best thing that never happened to him. He went on to share the undeniable value of being yourself and following your gut instincts.
Could this bring the two superstars closer in the future, even possibly to reunite for another Fast and Furious movie? We hope so, but only time will tell.
