Jurassic World: Dominion has delayed its production once again after a few people on set tested positive for COVID-19. The director of the film, Colin Trevorrow, shared the news with a Tweet on Wednesday.

“Woke up to the news we had a few positive Coronavirus tests on ‘Jurassic World: Dominion.’ All tested negative shortly after, but due to our safety protocols, we’re going to pause for two weeks. Back soon,” Trevorrow said.

The news of this delay comes days after Universal Studios announced that the film’s release date will no longer be in summer 2021 but will now be debuting on June 10, 2022.

“Even though subsequent tests proved negative this morning, due to our rigid protocols and to ensure that the safety and well-being of our entire cast and crew is paramount at all times, those who initially tested positive are currently self-isolating, as are those who they have come into contact with. As a result, filming has been temporarily paused and will resume in accordance with established safety guidelines.” Said a spokesperson for Universal Studios.

Jurassic World: Dominion was one of the first major films to resume production after being shut down for months due to the pandemic. Filming kick-started again in July with new and intense safety regulations to ensure the crew and cast would be protected.

This isn’t the first blockbuster film that paused filming due to positive COVID testings. The highly anticipated film, The Batman, also had to put production on halt due to a positive case.

We hope the cast and crew of Jurassic World: Dominion state safe and healthy when they resume filming again!
