This Friday just got a lot more fun with the release of the long awaited sequel to The Kissing Booth

Starring the previously offscreen couple, Joey King and Jacob Elordi, as the onscreen secret loves, Elle Evans and Noah Flynn; the sequel is set to pick up not too far after we left off. But in the high school world who knows how much will have changed after just one summer?!

From the looks of it, Elle and Noah’s love stayed strong over the summer and into the fall semester, but now with Noah off at Harvard, they’ve got a whole new set of challenges to overcome. Having Elle’s best friend/Noah’s brother, Lee, between them is no match for the near 3000 miles between Los Angeles and Cambridge! Are they ready for that kind of distance?

Oh and there’s this new kid, Marco, played by the dreamy Taylor Zakhar Perez, and he seems to be throwing a wrench into the whole situation. In the trailer we see him ask Elle if she thinks her and Noah were “meant to be together,” and Elle says she “always thought” they were… “Thought” PAST tense? What is happening there?

Then of course there’s the Lee of it all… Played by the always adorable Joel Courtney, Lee and Elle’s friendship pact is notorious for determining Elle’s fate. We watch Elle in the span of the trailer really struggle with her and Lee’s dream of attending Berkeley together, as she faces pressure from Noah to join him at Harvard. Oh how we wish our biggest problem was choosing between Berkeley with our bestie and Harvard with our hot boyfriend!

But in all seriousness, it seems that a major plot point of this sequel will be about Elle learning to make the best choices for herself, and we couldn’t be more here for it! Check out the trailer for yourself, and get excited to watch The Kissing Booth 2 this Friday, July 24 on Netflix
