Selena Gomez is going to be starring in a new movie based on Silvia Vasquez-Lavado and we could not be more excited.

The movie is based on Vasquez-Lavado’s memoir ‘In the Shadow of the Mountain’ which is to be released in 2022.

Here’s what to expect from the biopic based on Silvia’s life!

First, you might be asking: Who is Silvia Vasquez Lavado?

Well, she is the first openly gay woman to complete all Seven Summits.

You also might be asking what the Seven Summits are and they are simply the highest mountains on each continent.

She managed to accomplish this in 2018.

While we expect to see this important milestone in her biopic we are also expecting much more.

Her Early Life

Silvia was born and raised in Lima, Peru.

At the time, the country was going through hard times and we hope to see her experiences growing up there and how it has shaped who she is today.

Also catching a glimpse where she grew up and what influenced her when she was young would be important to see in the biopic as well.

Conquering The Mountains

It took Silvia years to climb all Seven Summits.

It would be interesting to see her experience in each one and her motivation for doing it.

It is likely that there will be footage in the biopic of certain scenes in the mountains but we hope we get to see an accurate depiction of what each one was like.

Courageous Girls

Silvia founded this group in 2009.

In her early life, Silvia suffered through sexual assault and healed through climbing the mountains.

This group was launched in order to help other victims of sexual assault and violence.

The purpose of this group was to help other women heal and find peace from these traumatic events by trekking.

The Popcorn Talk is very excited for this biopic to come out and we can’t wait to see Selena Gomez take on such a big role!
