Have you ever wanted a sneak peek into the lives of your favorite celebs? Maybe you’ve wondered what they do in their free time or if they struggle with similar issues as you.

Well, celebrity documentaries offer an exclusive glimpse behind the curtain and can answer some of these questions.

With many celeb documentaries being released the past few years and more on the way, we’ve decided to take a look at some of the most noteworthy!

Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry

Set to release in February of 2021, Billie Eilish announced her documentary on Twitter earlier today. It’s been a huge past few years for the singer. Just this year, she’s won five Grammys and has been nominated for twelve Billboard Music Awards. Her mastermind album, “When We All Go To Sleep, Where Do We Go?” saw widespread success. Loved by many, fans are thrilled to hear this documentary will be coming out. The film will have a theater release along with being available via Apple TV. The trailer can be seen below!

Miss Americana

Released January of 2020, this documentary followed the life of America’s sweetheart, Taylor Swift. Following her career over several years, the film spares little detail. It’s been described as intimate and revealing by Swift fans. It was also respected critically, premiering at Sundance before finding its way to live on Netflix. If you want to watch this doc, it is still available to watch on Netflix.

Released in 2020, this documentary follows the life of former First Lady Michelle Obama. Her memoir, also titled Becoming, was very similar to the documentary in terms of inspirational messaging. The doc received 93% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes with the overall consensus being, “It may not get as personal as some viewers might have hoped, but Becoming offers an uplifting look at a pivotal moment in its subject’s public life.” The film is available to watch on Netflix.

This is Paris

Available to watch for free on Youtube, Paris Hilton released this documentary on her life earlier this month. Racking up over 12 million views, fans applauded Paris’ honesty throughout the film. Recounting her days of boarding school, people were surprised to hear about difficulties she faced while growing up. Traveling even deeper, the documentary looks at the persona Paris creates for herself and “becoming the first influencer.”

Homecoming: A Film by Beyonce

Not as recent as others, this film was released in 2019. Yet, this documentary surrounding Beyonce’s Coachella performance is more than worthy. Written, directed, and executively produced by Queen B herself, the film focuses exclusively on the extensive worth that goes into a performance. Looking at the creative process and rehearsing, fans were obsessed with this doc when it first came out. You can watch this film on Netflix if you’re interested!

Break The Silence: The Movie

Released earlier this month, this groundbreaking BTS documentary has fans across the world obsessed. Loved for it’s rawness, the film opens up about the band member’s mental health. It is currently only playing in select theaters, but hopefully will be made available to watch online.

What celebrity do you want to make a documentary next? Personally, we here at the Popcorn Talk are ready for any celebs to drop one.
