Mary Birdsong, Actress – I Blame Dennis Hopper

Mary Birdsong was born in Florida and grew up in Long Beach Island, New Jersey, one of five sisters. She played the role of Kai Mitchell opposite George Clooney in the Alexander Payne film The Descendants. She may be best known for her role as Deputy Cherisha Kimball on the Comedy Central series Reno 911!. She is also known for her Judy Garland impression. She is a former correspondent on The Daily Show and Crossballs. As a voice actress, she has appeared in animated series such as Goldie and BearStroker and HoopLittle BillHarvey Birdman: Attorney At LawTak & the Power of Juju, and T.U.F.F. Puppy, as well as the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. In 2009, she played a character by the name of Nancy McDonald in Rob Zombie’s Halloween II.

The film was released on August 14, 2015 and received highly positive reviews from fans and critics. The real life Ice Cube and Dr. Dre worked with the filmmakers as co-producers. An album inspired by the film, Compton, was released by Dr. Dre on August 7, 2015.
