A recent high school graduate, Kent Boyd has been dancing since he was 8 years old. Boyd appeared in several high school musical productions, including “Oklahoma!” and “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” He is the runner-up to So You Think You Can Dance Season 7 Winner Lauren Froderman, and the only contestant of the Top 11 to never be in the bottom . He plans to pursue acting. After the show he’s been involved in Dance Conventions, taking acting classes and going around the country teaching various combos. He has finally pursued acting and performed the part of ‘Rascal’ in the new Disney Channel Original Movie ‘Teen Beach Movie’, where he is a part of the surfers. He has since continued his role as ‘Rascal’ in the sequel to the franchise titled ‘Teen Beach Movie 2’ in 2015. Other SYTYCD alumi including Marko Germar, Malece Miller and Mollee Gray also starred in the Disney Channel franchise.

Professional dancer and choreographer who competed on season 14 of So You Think You Can Dance. He’s toured with prestigious dance conventions such as NUVO, 24 Seven, Jump and The Pulse. He won Teen Male Dancer of the Year at the 2014 Dance Awards. He was first inspired to start dancing by his sister and has been trained in jazz, lyrical, tap, hip hop, ballet and contemporary styles. He was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor at the Helen Hayes Awards for his role in Billy Elliot the Musical. He was also named Senior Grand Prix winner at the Los Angeles Youth America Grand Prix regionals. He was born and raised in Irvine, California. He has been in a relationship with fellow SYTYCD competitor Taylor Sieve since 2017. He and Vivian Maria Ruiz have both dancers for NUVO and 24 Seven dance companies.

The now 19-year-old fell in love with dance, and soon it was all she wanted to do.

Now she’s showing the entire country what talent she’s been nurturing since then, auditioning for talent show ‘So You Think You Can Dance’.

Paul Karmiryan Discusses His Career – To The Pointe with Kristyn Burtt

On today’s episode of “To The Pointe with Kristyn Burtt”, we’re talking to Paul Karmiryan!

 

Paul Karmiryan is a contestant on season 10 of So You Think You Can Dance. His genre is Latin Ballroom. He was eliminated on August 27, 2013.

Paul first started dancing at the age of 9 and started ballroom training at the age of 17. He is currently majoring in Psychology at California State University, Northridge.

In 2011, Paul auditioned for the second season of Parir te Karogh Es, which is the Armenian version of So You Think You Can Dance, and ended up being crowned as the winner.

He returned to So You Think You Can Dance by auditioning for season 10 in Los Angeles, California.

In 2014, Paul was part of the Move Live on Tour cast, a dance production featuring Derek and Julianne Hough, along with some other SYTYCD alumnis, such as Hayley Erbert, Brittany Cherry, Jason Glover, and Ashley Galvan. He worked with Brittany Cherry on the Ed Sheeran “Thinking Out Loud” music video, which was choreographed by Napoleon and Tabitha D’umo.

In 2014/2015 he performed as part of the Dancing With The Stars Live Tour, where he performed across the whole of America. In 2016, he was an All Star mentor to Ruby Castro on SYTYCD: The Next Generation and together they went to the top 6. He is now back on SYTYCD on Season 14 as an All Star.

Now they’re among the professional dancers from more than 25 countries competing as individuals, pairs, or in groups in “World of Dance.”

Both dancers started their careers in their teen years—Keone in San Diego, California, and Mari in Boulder, Colorado.

iTalk movies is a long-form interview series featuring leading members of the film community. In this episode, our host Keetin Marchi interviews Chuck Hayward about his project Fat Camp on the Popcorn Talk Network.

One of the hottest young writers in television, Chuck Hayward wrote three episodes of Netflix’s breakout show, Dear White People, including the provocative fifth episode directed by Oscar winner Barry Jenkins.  Hayward began refining his writing skills as an assistant writer on shows such as NBC’s One Big Happy and Fox’s Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life.

Straight Outta Compton | Anatomy of a Movie

AOM hosts Joe Braswell (@JoeKBraswell), Akili Shine (@AkiliShine), Roxy Striar (@RoxyStriar) and Phil Svitek (@PDSvitek) discuss the 2015 movie Straight Outta Compton with guest Aeriel Miranda. traight Outta Compton is a 2015 American biographical drama film directed by F. Gary Gray. The film revolves around the rise and fall of the Compton, California hip hop group N.W.A and borrows its title from the name of their 1988 debut studio album. Depicted in its cast are rappers Ice Cube (O’Shea Jackson, Jr.), Dr. Dre (Corey Hawkins), Eazy-E (Jason Mitchell), and manager Jerry Heller (Paul Giamatti). The film was released on August 14, 2015 and received highly positive reviews from fans and critics. The real life Ice Cube and Dr. Dre worked with the filmmakers as co-producers.
