Will Beinbrink talks The Free State of Jones and Manhanttan Night on iTalk Movies

iTalk movies is a long-form interview series featuring leading members of the film community. In this episode, our host James Lott Jr. interviews Will Beinbrink in studio about The Free State of Jones and Manhanttan Night on the Popcorn Talk Network. Will Beinbrink was born in Bethesda Maryland. His father was a Naval Captain and their family lived all over the world including Italy, Korea, Texas, New York, before finally settling in San Diego, CA. Growing up, Will was a highly competitive athlete, traveling around the country playing soccer and volleyball. He was temporarily injured while surfing, and took on a drama elective at La Jolla High School as a replacement to sports. There he collaborated with actor / musician Blake Sennatt on And They Danced Real Slow in Jackson, which became a finalist for the Best HS production in Southern California. Through that, he met Doug Jacobs, co-founder of San Diego Rep Theater, who encouraged him to audition for The Juilliard School in NYC. He became a member of Crew 32, along with classmates Jessica Chastain, Jess Weixler, Michael Urie, Luke McFarlane . During the summers, and after graduation, he performed in numerous Regional Theater productions including Arms and The Man, and The Shape of Things at Barrington Stage Company, and the Ovation nominated play Caught at the Zephyr Theater. He also performed numerous Shakespeare productions in various venues including Shakespeare on the Sound, Seattle Shakespeare Company, and The Los Angeles Shakespeare Festival. Since moving to LA, he has worked in several Films including Cellular, Fuel, Barracuda; and TV shows including Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Medium, The Unit, Castle, ER, Numb3rs. He spends his time between New York and Los Angeles, working in theatre, film and TV. @ThePopcornTalk

Robin Williams Tribute | Anatomy of a Movie

In this AOM show, hosts Phil Svitek, Chloe West, Demetri Panos, and Sara Stretton give tribute to the late actor Robin Williams by going over his career and discussing such movies like Hook, Final Cut, Patch Adams, Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Happy Days, RV, Good Will Hunting, Fisher King, Jack, Jumanji and Dead Poets Society. Robin’s bio: Robin McLaurin Williams was born on July 21, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois, a great-great-grandson of Mississippi Governor and Senator Anselm J. McLaurin. Robin briefly studied political science, before enrolling at Juilliard School to study theatre. After he left Juilliard, he performed in nightclubs where he was discovered for the role of Mork on an episode of Happy Days (1974) and the subsequent spin-off Mork & Mindy (1978). Williams’ wild comic talent involved a great deal of improvisation, following in the footsteps of his idol Jonathan Winters. Williams has also proven to be an effective dramatic actor and received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in Good Will Hunting (1997).

Noel Fisher (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) Interview | Anatomy of a Movie

In this show, AOM hosts Chloe West, Phil Svitek and JJ Jurgens interview Noel Fisher about his new movie Teenage Mutant Ninja. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a 2014 American science-fiction action film based on the franchise of the same name. A reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film series, the film is directed by Jonathan Liebesman and stars Megan Fox, Johnny Knoxville, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, Alan Ritchson, Danny Woodburn, Tony Shalhoub, William Fichtner, and Will Arnett. The film was announced shortly before Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Peter Laird sold the rights to the franchise to Nickelodeon in 2009. It is to be produced by Nickelodeon Movies and Michael Bay’s production company Platinum Dunes, and distributed by Paramount Pictures. Noel’s bio: Originally from Vancouver, B.C. Fisher has been steadily gaining momentum as an actor since he was 14 years old. His very first role was in the TV movie The Sheldon Kennedy Story (1999) for CBC in 1999. The part landed Fisher his first Gemini nomination, [the equivalent to the U.S. Primetime Emmy Awards] which was followed with a second nomination for his work on the hit Canadian series Godiva’s (2005). Once gaining traction in Canada, Fisher proved that his talent would translate to the US market, appearing in the blockbuster Columbia feature film Battle Los Angeles (2011), with his portrayal of rookie Marine “Pfc. Shaun Lenihan opposite Aaron Eckhart. He has also made his mark in television, appearing on top series such as Two and a Half Men (2003), The Mentalist (2008) ,and Medium (2005), a recurring role on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999), Huff (2004),” and Bones (2005). Snowpiercer (Chris Evans) | Anatomy of a Movie

In this AOM show, hosts Phil Svitek, Sara Stretton and Stephen Lemieux discuss Snowpiecer which is a 2013 South Korean science fiction action film based on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob, Benjamin Legrand and Jean-Marc Rochette. The film is directed by Bong Joon-ho, and written by Bong and Kelly Masterson. The film marks Bong’s English-language debut; approximately 80% of the film was shot in English.
