Atomic Blonde is a 2017 American action spy thriller film directed by David Leitch, in his first solo directorial credit, and written by Kurt Johnstad. It is based on Antony Johnston and Sam Hart’s 2012 graphic novel The Coldest City, published by Oni Press, which revolves around a spy who has to find a list of double agents who are being smuggled into the West on the eve of the collapse of the Berlin Wall in 1989. The film stars Charlize Theron and James McAvoy, with John GoodmanTil SchweigerEddie MarsanSofia Boutella and Toby Jones in supporting roles.

Atomic Blonde had its world premiere at South by Southwest on March 12, 2017 and was released in the United States on July 28, 2017, by Focus Features. It has grossed $26 million and received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised its action sequences, Theron’s performance and the musical score, with many comparing the film to John Wick, although some criticized the writing and pacing.

Video Game Movie Anatomy hosts break down Video Game inspired movies to answer the age old question: DO GAMES MAKE GOOD MOVIES?!?! In today’s episode, hosts Mark Donica and Stacey Shuttleworth welcome star and voice of Ratchet, James Arnold Taylor! Ratchet & Clank is a 2016 American-Canadian 3D computer-animated science fiction action comedy film based on the first game of the platforming video game series of the same name. The film stars the voices of Paul Giamatti, John Goodman, Bella Thorne, Rosario DawsonJames Arnold Taylor, David Kaye and Sylvester Stallone. Series creators Insomniac Games helped with the film’s production, screenplay, character development, and animation. The film was directed by Jericca Cleland and Kevin Munroe, featuring an original story written by Munroe and former Insomniac Games Senior Writer T.J. Fixman, who started writing for the series with the Future saga. Several cast members from the games reprised their respective voice roles, and assets from the video games were utilized in the film. The film was released on April 29, 2016, by Gramercy Pictures.
