Ethan Van der Ryn is a sound editor. He won 2 Academy Awards for Best Sound Editing for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and King Kong. He earned further Academy Awards nominations for Transformers, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Argo.

ABOUT A QUIET PLACE:

If they hear you, they hunt you.

A Quiet Place is a 2018 American horror film directed by John Krasinski, who also stars alongside Emily Blunt, his real-life wife. The screenplay was written by Krasinski, Bryan Woods, and Scott Beck, based on a story by Woods and Beck. The plot follows a family who must live life in silence while hiding from creatures that hunt by sound.

Beck and Woods began working on the story in 2013, and Paramount Pictures bought their spec script in 2017. Krasinski then joined as director and wrote a new draft of the script. Principal photography took place later in the year in upstate New York.

A Quiet Place premiered at South by Southwest on March 9, 2018 and was released in the United States on April 6, 2018, by Paramount Pictures. It has grossed $71 million worldwide and received acclaim from critics, who called it a “smart, wickedly frightening good time”.

ABOUT JEFF HAMMER:

A proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Hammer earned an MFA in Screenwriting at the University of Southern California and returned to USC as adjunct professor in the John Wells Division of Writing for Screen & Television. As a screenwriter, his work has received distinction from the Walt Disney Studios/ABC TV Writing Fellowship, the Alfred P. Sloan Commissioning Grant, and the Austin Film Festival. While completing post-production on Live or Die in La Honda, he’s kept busy producing the first season of the original sci-fi web series Personal Space starring Nicki Clyne (Battlestar Galactica), Richard Hatch (Battlestar Galactica), Kurt Yaeger (Sons of Anarchy), Tim Russ (Star Trek: Voyager), and more. All 28 episodes of the 1st Season will premiere March 2, 2018 on Amazon Video.

Blake Baker receives a call from a past lover asking him to help find her missing brother. Once he arrives in La Honda, he learns the task is much more treacherous than it first appeared, and he’s forced to decide how much he’s willing to risk for the love of his life.
