On today’s episode of “To The Pointe with Kristyn Burtt”, we’re talking to Kent Boyd!

A recent high school graduate, Kent Boyd has been dancing since he was 8 years old. Boyd appeared in several high school musical productions, including “Oklahoma!” and “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” He is the runner-up to So You Think You Can Dance Season 7 Winner Lauren Froderman, and the only contestant of the Top 11 to never be in the bottom . He plans to pursue acting. After the show he’s been involved in Dance Conventions, taking acting classes and going around the country teaching various combos. He has finally pursued acting and performed the part of ‘Rascal’ in the new Disney Channel Original Movie ‘Teen Beach Movie’, where he is a part of the surfers. He has since continued his role as ‘Rascal’ in the sequel to the franchise titled ‘Teen Beach Movie 2’ in 2015. Other SYTYCD alumi including Marko Germar, Malece Miller and Mollee Gray also starred in the Disney Channel franchise.
