Neighbors | Anatomy of a Movie

In this show, AOM hosts Demetri Panos and Roxy Striar discuss the film Neighbors which is a 2014 summer comedy directed by Nicholas Stoller. Kelly and Mac are settling down in a quiet neighborhood with their newborn child, until the frat brothers move into the house next door. Teddy is the President, and Pete is his right hand man, and they’re quick to accept friendship when Kelly and Mac introduce themselves as the neighbors. Night after night, Mac asks Teddy to lower the fraternity’s noise, even accepting the invitation to the party one evening. When Teddy goes back on his word to keep the partying down, Mac calls the police to deal with the problem. The police quickly blame Mac for their presence, and the war begins. As the family feuds with the frat brothers, things get hilariously dangerous and the fraternity end ups on thin ice with their college. After receiving their final warning and being placed on probation, Mac and Kelly pull a prank so ingenious that Teddy and Mac are forced to respond. All hell breaks loose, from Robert DeNiro parties to Christopher Mintz-Plasse having sex in the bushes. The hosts discuss everything from filmography, to casting/acting, directing, cinematography, editing, score, sound editing, etc. HELPFUL LINKS: Imdb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2004420/?ref_=nv_sr_1 Google Search: https://www.google.com/search?q=neighbors+2014&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=sb Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neighbors_%282014_film%29 CBS News: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/seth-rogen-on-neighbors-alzheimers-and-laughs/ Vanity Fair: http://www.vanityfair.com/vf-hollywood/neighbors-zac-efron-review The Daily Beast: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/05/08/the-unheralded-comedy-genius-nicholas-stoller-on-neighbors-zac-efron-s-darkness-and-diddy.html
